Lake Hayes
This annual picnic features five hours of entertainment and has become a fixture of the local 'Queenstown Fartonian Society' and the 'Eichardt's Tavern Old Boys Association'.
The Backyard Bandstand is set over ponds in two and a half acres of picturesque private grounds bordering Mill Creek which feeds nearby Lake Hayes. Groups can reserve tables and shade tents, or bring their own.
Gourmet picnic food is available at the site, or again, guests may choose to BYO and use the complimentary BBQ facilities available.
Other facilities on site include parking (limited, on a first in basis) craft stalls, 'artists at work', a Bar and rest rooms.Public transport from Queenstown, Frankton and Arrowtown to the venue and back is also available.
